History
Who We Are: DancingTrees is a community-based network of people lending a helping hand to our families, our animals and our environment. We have no other affiliation than community. We apply the “Pay It Forward” philosophy with the goal of making the community a better place. We provide critical and emergent supplies for community members who find themselves in temporary difficult situations.
We assist fellow non-profits of similar visions. We provide classroom supplies to area Head Start programs, organize food drives for local food pantries, participate in fundraisers for animal shelters, after school projects, and work to promote a healthy environment to list a few.
Fundraising for DancingTrees’ happens three times a year. Proceeds from the Annual Music Festival in August are used for our Winter programs. The Annual “Winter Warmth” 5-K Road Race & 1 Mile Fun Run/Fitness Walk in September supports our Staying Warm Programs (warm clothing, blankets, boots, coats, hats, mittens scarves, insulation kits for windows) and Firewood Project. The Annual campaign in November supports the “Christmas is for Everyone” project providing necessities and non-electronic gifts that promote family time and social interaction.
One theme is constant, help where we can, encourage everyone to pay it forward, and keep the wheel of the community turning. Each year, as our membership grows our projects expand and our ability to help others increases. Many hands make even the biggest project doable. We are not affiliated with any religious, political or social organization. We do not discriminate against of color, race, religion, gender or age.

How Did We Become Who We Are? For several years, our founding family experienced many temporary difficult situations. This opportunity taught them to accept help from their community, creatively motivate each other, and learn, learn, learn. In time, they were able to “pay it forward” and help others, help each other. On August 22, 2004, family and friends formed the first formal membership and Board of Directors. Since that time, the Board of Directors has added a volunteer Executive Director, more projects, new members and volunteers with fresh energy.
